The Story

CONFESSION: it's been about 10 days since I painted anything. **GASPS** I know. For a woman who says she wants to make her life and living making art this is not a good sign.

Sure the day job continues to be challenging and I've had the cold virus from Hades the past several days, but still 10 days....no painting, little creating.

I'll be the first to admit that I've let the crazed business that is life allow me to lose sight of my dream - to be a full-time thriving artist and creative director of my own stuff.

But life is funny that way. It's filled with happenings, interruptions and distractions galore, some soul-filling, some soul-sucking. Regardless the happening, our job is to  not lose sight of the our dream and to cling to it at all cost. (Sidenote but related: Have you seen the movie The Red Balloon? If you have 36 minutes to spare today please treat yourself.)

To break my 10 day dry spell, I painted myself a balloon, a single solitary ode to my dream, a reminder to focus on my dream and make progress no matter what is happening. Oh and progress covers everything from massive outcomes to infinitesimal ones and even amounts in between like a single solitary balloon.

This week I want you to ask yourself the following questions: What color is your balloon? What are you doing to cling to it?

I made a batch of these original watercolor balloons as a reminder for me and you to focus on our dreams and cling to them. Grab yours today!

Don't see your color, email me at [email protected] and let's take PANTONE!
